FEES
The students selected
for any course has to remit fees at the time of
admission. Under no circumstances fees once paid will
not be refunded.The term fees is to be remitted each
term on or before the stipulated dates. Thereafter a
fine of Rs.5/- per working day will be levied. Once the
last date for payment with penalty is over, the name of
the student will be struck off the rolls.On payment of a
Re-admission fee for Rs.100/- along with the fees, she
will be allowed to attend the class.
ATTENDANCE AND DISCIPLINE
-
Students must be
present on the reopening day of the College.
-
Attendance shall be
taken every lecture and practical hour.
-
The attendance for
physical training shall be totaled separately.
-
No student shall
absent herself without leave for any day / during any
part of the day. Leave of application must be made to
the Principal through the Head of the Dept, who will
forward same with her remarks.
-
The students can keep
their parents, guardians, relatives and friends informed
that they should not be disturbed during the class
hours. In case of emergency, parents alone are requested
to contact the Principal in person.
-
A student who is
absent without leave for any hour of the day will be
regarded as being absent for half a day.
-
A minimum of 75% of
attendance is compulsory to appear for University
Examinations. (Theory and Practical)
-
The College is
committed to strict vegetarianism.
-
Non-vegetarian foods
including eggs are forbidden both in the College and
Hostel premises.
-
It is mandatory that
the students maintain a high degree of cleanliness both
in the class room and within the campus. The principal
has the right not to forward the names of fees
defaulters or whose conduct has been found
unsatisfactory for University Examinations.
EXAMINATIONS AND PERIODIC TESTS
-
Monthly tests and
terminal exams are conducted and progress cards are sent
to the parents periodically after each terminal
examination.
-
Parents are asked to
demand for the report card and return the same duly
signed within three days.
-
A model exam is
conducted in the month of March to ensure good results
in the University examinations.
-
Based on the
performance of the students in these exams, the
Principal decides on the eligibility of the student to
appear for the University examinations.
-
A student who fares
very badly in these exams or has sufficient attendance
will not be permitted to write the University exams.
-
The decision of the
Principal will be final in this matter.
LIBRARY
-
Every student, on
being enrolled, becomes a member of the College
library.
-
Each member is allowed
to borrow two books at a time using borrower’s ticket.
If the ticket is lost, a duplicate will be issued by the
librarian on payment of Rs.5/-
-
There will be a
library hour prescribed in the time table for all
students and this should be observed strictly.
-
Any damage in the book
taken must be brought to the notice of the librarian.
-
Overdue charges at
Rs.1/- per day shall be imposed for each day the book is
overdue.
-
Reference books and
periodicals will not be lent. They are for reference
within the library ONLY.
-
The books in the
demand will be lent only for three days.
-
Library books and
tokens must be returned at the end of the academic year,
on or before the stipulated date.
LABORATORY
-
The timings for
laboratory are 8.30 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.
-
The Computer and
Science labs are well equipped with costly apparatus.
Great care must be taken in handling the apparatus.
-
All breakages,
damages, looses etc are to be reported to the concerned
Lecturers immediately.
-
The cost of breakages,
damages, looses are recovered from the students
concerned individually or collectively. These should be
brought to the notice of the Principal forthwith.
-
The worktables and
sanitary fittings should be taken care of by the Head of
the Dept and Lecturers in charge.
-
The Dept. Comp.
Science is provided with expensive systems, servers,
printers and UPS. Care and caution are therefore needed
in this case from the students, staff and the
attendants.
ACTIVITIES OF THE STUDENTS
THE
COLLEGE UNION
-
All the students shall
be the members of the college union. The objective and
the aim are to promote the student activities and to
develop a sense of loyalty, self expression,
responsibility and self discipline in the students.
-
The principal shall be
‘ex-officio’ president of the union. The student
chairman shall preside over the ordinary meetings of the
union. The Governing body shall be kept informed of all
the activities of the college union from time to time,
much in advance of the activity taking effect.
-
For the development of
intellectual and physical capabilities the following
functions during the academic year are celebrated in
consultation with and under the guidance of the
secretary. Independence Day, Republic day, Mahaveer
Jayanthi, Sports day and College day.
THE NATIONAL SERVICE
SCHEME
-
Education through
service is the dimension the NSS imparts to the student
community. The NSS aims to draw the students close to
social realities and evaluations of social projects with
weaker sections of the society.
-
The college has two
NSS programme officers and200 student volunteers
sponsored by the University of Madras. Various rural
projects, society awareness programmes; blood donation
camps are conducted regularly. Students who put 120
hours of service during the course of 2 years are
entitled for regular national service scheme
certificates. Participation in 10 days holiday camps is
essential.

The college plans for
national adult education programme with financial
assistance from UGC. Talented NSS volunteers will be
given orientation and selected to work in NAEP.
PHYSICAL EDUCATION
Physical education is the
integral part of the college curriculum. Every student must
undergo the course of physical training prescribed by the
college or be a member of NSS. The students’ attendance and
progress certificate will not be complete without 75%
attendance in the physical education classes or NSS
activities. The programme of physical education in the
college includes individual and group games like Ball
badminton, Throw ball, Shuttle, Volley ball, Tennikoit,
Basket ball, Table tennis, Kho kho,Carrom and Chess.
PARA-ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES
To include concern and
respect for living organisms to build genuine human
relationship and to encourage good reading and creativity in
students Karuna club, blood donors’ club, readers club,
humour club, fine-arts club are functioning in addition to
the college union regular activities.
BUS-FACILITIES
Six buses are operated on
all working days from Tirupattur, Vaniyambadi and Ambur with
regular boarding stages on the way of the college. The bus
fare will be collected from each student yearly on the
stipulated date.
HOSTEL
Separate hostel
accommodation with all amenities is provided. Healthy
nutritious vegetarian food is served to the hostel inmates.
CANTEEN
A canteen is functioning
to cater to the needs of the Staff and the Students.
CAREER
GUIDANCE & PLACEMENT CELL
Career guidance cell is
constituted to guide the students on employment
opportunities. Campus Interviews are also arranged.
YRC
Through youth Red Cross,
the college carries out many welfare activities and social
works. Students are given training in developing their
professional as well as personal profile skills through the
conduct of seminars and guest lectures on health as well as
social related projects.
HEALTH
CHECK UP
Every Student has o
undergo a medical check up during the first term of the
academic year. A physical examination form for each student
filled in by the physician is filled in the college office
after it has been signed by the parent or guardian. Students
can consult the college doctor outside the prescribed hours
by previous hours by previous appointment and on payment of
a fee, if interested.
